Cumbernauld Colts   1  v  1  Hawick Royal Albert

Colts were looking to make amends for their Scottish cup exit last week under the Broadwood lights on Friday night against the Hawick side that the home side knocked out of the South of Scotland cup a matter of weeks ago.

The home side making a few changes with Black, Pirrie and Foggin returning to the side as the only 3 changes from the previous game.

Colts seen more of the ball in the opening exchanges and created a couple of chances but were unable to convert and could have found themselves behind against the run of play as Black attempted a crossfield pass 18 yards from his own goal that he scuffed and the ball fell to the strikers feet but he was unable to convert.

Colts continued to move the ball around and had a few more chances, Foggin from a free kick that went flying over the bar and a couple of corners that cane to nothing. And Colts were soon to be punished as the Hawick forward got the ball to his feet and took on the Colts defence to slot past Fahey to make it 1-0.

Half Time 0-1

As the teams emerged for the second half Jamie Barclay entered the fray for Colts as Johnny black made way.

And Colts as the first half seen most of the ball but were lacking the cutting edge to make the possession count and the pace of the game was beginning to slow down.

Half way through the second period Colts brought on Sean Brown to inject a bit of life into the game and it was proving effective as his desire to get in behind was stretching the Hawick defence and within 10 minutes of coming on he scored Colts equaliser. The ball swung in from the right hand side too a deflection and hung up at the far post for Brown to head in from six yards.

With the momentum now firmly with Colts there looked to be only one team that would go on to win the match, but that could have changed as Jamie Broadfoot was sent off for Colts for a wreckless challenge on the half way line leaving the home side to see out the game with 10 men.

Despite being a man short Colts still managed to create opportunities to score. Sean Brown went through one on one with the goalkeeper but a heavy touch gave the keeper a chance to get the ball and the opportunity was missed.

The game though was coming to an end but if there was to be a goal it would have cane from Brown up front. Unfortunately though there was to be no more goals and the match finished all square.

Full Time 1-1
